TOEFL Instruction and Course Design
Providing expert instruction and designing courses preparing college and university candidates for the TOEFL
“Passing” the TOEFL means different things for different people. A higher TOEFL score does not increase your chances of gaining acceptance to an institute of higher education. You simply need to hit the threshold required for the particular program at the school to which you are applying. Thus, some students may need an 80 and others 110 (out of 120). However, half of the exam tests your speaking and writing skills. Because students’ target scores, lexicons, and knowledge of spelling and grammar are different, studying a full course with a heterogeneous class is ineffective. You need instruction that is tailored to close your unique gaps.
Cost:
My rate is 200 NIS/hour.
My goal is to get you the score you need without wasting your time or money. This is why I do not sell packages, and you do not pay in advance. You pay at the end of the lesson according to the amount of time we worked together, and we end the lesson (which will be anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes) as soon as we have covered what we need to cover that day. This way you never pay for what you don’t need.
But how many hours will I need?
We’ll be able to estimate the number of hours we’ll need to work together after I have seen the results from one simulation. I recommend taking the simulation after the first lesson, in which you learn the best strategies, materials to use, and templates. Take into consideration that, in most cases, the first lesson takes 90 minutes, which comes to 300 NIS.

The Test-Prep Process:
In the first session, we go over the general strategies and templates that need to be applied to each of the four sections: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. We also review exactly how your speaking and writing responses are evaluated, and how test takers lose crucial points. You then purchase a $25 set of five official retired exams and do the first exam in the set. After I see the results, we meet to close the particular gaps that are holding back your score. If, on your first simulation, you already pass your target, then we have no need to meet again!
